There is going to be some stiff competition with Tekin and I would like to still run my Castle equipment. There is a great need for a 2650 size can 1900kv motor!

The problem with having so many choices is that it will get confusing. The 2650 is good for a Buggy, the 2200 is good for Truggies, and the 1800 will be a sweet motor for those of us with heavier 1/8th scale RCs. IMO this is very easy to understand and make the right choice for motors.

Yeah, but most of us are exceptions and can count to higher than 3.

If B=Buggy, T=Truggy, X=Extreme. Why not just call them:

2650B
1900B
1400B

2200T
1700T
1100T

1800X
1400X

...All of which can be done with Y winds. How confusing is that?

It's not confusing to you because you've been into RC long enough to know the difference. Look at all the people dropping MM 7700 and 9000 motors into Stampedes, that alone is proof that not everyone knows better.

I suppose they could build the motors but not offer them in the combos, that could work...

Very true, but I don't think offering a lower kv motor in buggy size would worsen such matters. The "knowledgeable" people would buy the lower kv version, and the others would continue buying the 2650, which still isn't too demanding on 4s. The fact that people may try to put the 1518 and 1520 size motors in buggies, for less power or higher voltage and the same power would be worse.

With the problems that Tekin is having I know they would sell. I would love a lower KV Castle motor.

My understanding was that CC was sticking with the 1y wind as that was found to be most efficient across the board. The they vary the can length for KV/Torque. This makes the most since to me. I really don't see the reason for 30 different motor choices. Each motor can be set to run in its respective range however it needs be. If the 2650 will be too much on 4s then run 3s. If the 2200 is too much on 6s run 5s or 4s.

Tekin is Tekin and CC is CC, they will both offer what is they think fits their market best.

You completely missed the point. I have never driven my car anywhere but the track. I need a motor that will run cool and last 15 to 20 min on 4s. I currently run a Neu 1512/2.5d but I really like the endbell and wire design of the Castle. I am limited in length as to what motor I can run. The 2200 is too long. The 2650 is a juice hog.
I just want a 1900 or 2000 kv castle motor.

Well, I think based on CC's feedback this won't happen.

I know specifically that Patrick said they were only going to do 1y windings and vary the can length to change KV values.

The thing I keep saying which I don't understand is why people don't do more with the programming to correct the things they do not like. When I got my MM originally I was literally amazed at how much I could change the drive profile and feel via software without changing gearing or anything else with the setup. I could see drastic differences in run time and performance based on what type of setup I used via software.

No doubt CC would offer wider KV selection for the custmers, like their 1/10 motors does, but I guess something between Patrick and Steve Neu might be limiting this product line.
