I get good run times as well.
I have run from 4s to 6s on it as well. It warms up on 6s but not real bad.
I would buy it again for sure.
Thanks for the reply, I got your PM...

I have run a 1512/1900kv on 4s in my buggy and a little bit in my truggy... it has plenty of balls imo. In my buggy, I gear it 18/46 for some bashing and it has tire-shredding torque still.

Well, things have changed. My parents have agreed to buy me a mrc 989 charger for my birthday in a month.(Yeah!) Also I was just bashing with my lsp and lightly ran into some leaves and brush outside of my house and popped the front endball of my 540c 9xl! (yes, 540c!) I also took a chunk out of the motor mount that Mike machined for me. Here are some pics

So, now I think I am going to get maxamps 10mah 4s or 5s pack(what do you think?) and a Neu 1512 2.5d/f. I also just fixed my rc10gt, brought it outside, ran it for 5 feet; I soon found out that the steering was reversed and crashed into a fence and broke a front steering block...Not a good day...

Wow, my 540C 7XL almost lost its front endbell. Fortunately I caught it before any damage was done (JB Welded it back together yesterday). Too bad that happened to yours!

How do the windings look? If the rotor scraped them too much, the motor might not be salvagable. On my motor, the only damage seems to be with the front bearing, which feels a little gritty now. I'm going to go see how well the motor works in a minute.

The rotor is scratched, but the windings look ok. A neu is looking mighty nice right now...

Whao! How did that happen?! That looks odd ; I think a neu on 4s would be best for racing, or a lehner 1940 once they come in stock.

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

I was bashing outside my house when I took like a 6in. dirt jump into some brush and leaves. I got stuck and I had reverse disabled, so I had to walk over and pick up the truck. I put it on the ground, started to go and heard a grinding noise, and now I am here:005:

Also, what do you guys think of a 12xl on 6s?

12xl on 6s is too much for a track, for bashing its fine.

You think? With the same gearing that I run a 9xl on (15/46) it would be like 4-5mph slower....

Slower, yes, but you would most likely wheelie and spin out if you dont have a steady finger, imo 4s all the way.

With my 540C 7XL's front endbell JB Weld-ed on, the motor held up to some punishing jumps (big air, landing completely upside down in the street). So far so good :). You may want to try this out with your motor, as long as the coating on the wires isn't scratched off (which could cause a short), there's nothing to lose if you try :).
