The cogging i got was vert slight, with a buggy i don't think it will be a problem. The 1940 should work better as well
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

I experience no cogging in my maxx geared 18/66 on 4s with the 7xl.. I'm running the lowest timing also. the motor runs right around 135-140 the esc with fan 95-100 without fan around 140 ..

I think my cog, if it was a cog, was from running default and overgearing(20+minutes and about 173* heat might have helped) I'm going to put the timing at its lowest and work on punch control and see if it works, I may leave the 18 on to see how it works

Well, i just run 5s on the Mamba Max/9XL combo. All i can say is, HOLY COW!!!! How do you guys drive it at this power level??? I couldn't run long, because my fingers got numb (a very rare cold day in the south), but the power was incredible and i couldn't keep the front tires on the ground, guess its time to find the exp controls on the nomadio. The cogging issue on 4s with the 18 tooth pinion is gone on 5s, due in part to playing with the timing and punch controls, Thanks BrianG for the advise. man this thing is nasty

Would this be a good setup too replace the stock 550 motors, I run for fun and use 7 cell packs and I am happy with the speed and driveability, some upgrades have been made, like cv's all around. Thanks in advance Steve.

It would be a very good setup to replace the stockers!
The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

for a stock maxx, I'd go with 4s, especially if you are satisfied with the speed. The 9XL had similar speed to the stock titansand will run with the 7 cell packs, You will need a UBEC because the internal BEC will cut out.

If you think thats nasty... Try the 9xl on 6s. The motor will take it, but not the MM. I have run my 9xl in my maxx on 6s a few times and all I can say is... Silly... Just Silly.:027: But FUN! Only problem is a heavy finger means blown diffs and driveshafts.:019:
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

6s on 9xl is not silly power. I don't know what you guys talking about.
I thought it was just getting to the fun stage.
26 cells on a 2250 10t makes that look bad.
Peace!

Leroy has a slightly skewed perspective on power. The common stuff like 6S is boreing to him.
