It would have been even faster with a pack that held the voltage better, such as the maxamps 8000 packs, they tend to hold their voltage much better than the relative weak 6000 packs.
that's probably due to their over rated specs.. maybe?
OK, have you experiment the Low Voltage Cutoff who kick too early on your 16018 with your setup??
Somes guys here have had this trouble, but somes suspect the quality of the batt.
I'm not sure if I'm just lucky but I have not had a problem with the LVC on my controller. I have been able to take up to 4500mah out of my pack just during general bashing. I have been wanting to do a test run through a large field of tall grass to see how fast I can dump the pack and see if the high stress kicks in the LVC sooner. If I get a chance I'll do this and let you know the outcome.
I do not have a data logger (just not in the budget ATM) so I cannot provide any hard data. I have run both the 5s evo25 4900 and a pair of Trakpower 2s 4900mah 20c gold bricks with good results. I seem to get about 3 -5 minutes less runtime from the gold bricks then I do when running them in my novak 6.5 emaxx system. However I figure that would be normal since the novak is maybe 550 watts and the neu is @ 1500 watts. Perhaps one of the guys who know the math for these things can confirm or deny this?
I think that at least some of the problems that others have reported were caused by the way that this controller handles the voltage cutoff (not a hard set value like other LVC's) combined with their batteries ability to provide sustained voltage levels throughout the discharge period. This is of course purely speculation without knowing specific setups, battery types, etc.
The only issue I seem to have with my controller is that the freewheel function does not seem to work properly... aside from that it really is a nice setup that runs very cool.
It finally stopped raining for a couple of days so I had a chance to test the LVC today. I took the revo out to a large grass field and ran it WOT around the 125 yard x 50 yard until the cutoff kicked in.
Testing was in a revo with 1515 1Y, mgm 16018, flightpower 5s 5000mah evo25.
Runtime was @ 9 minutes mostly WOT only slowing enough to turn without rolling over.
I did not bring my temp gun but the motor was just slightly warm to the touch and the controller was cool.
The pack took 4638mah to recharge.
I think the LVC is working properly on my controller as any further discharge would like produce a noticeable voltage drop and loss of performance.
Wow!! can't ask better response
But you are in 5s, me i'am in FP EVO25 4s, so i suppose i'll have little less runtime.
Do you have your trannylock in second?? And do you have stock diffs in your revo?
OK thank you, but you use the steel Robinson gear in your tranny and have lock it in second How have you did to lock the second gear in this hardened steel gear????? Have you tap and thread in the steel gear?
