Dabid, we already talked about this a while ago. Serum's right. If the air is blown on an object, you have more actual contact between air and surface. Thus the heat exchange is better.
If you suck air over it, the air will find the route with the least resistance. Which is not directly ON the surface. (in fact, theoretically, the air molecules that sit on the surface would not move at all)

And 1 more question, I've found a powerful 40mm fan with 11.48cfm and 9200rpm. this is the highest cfm and RPM ive seen so far for a 40mm fan. But the problem is, it has 3 leads (pins). I know that most u use the fans that has only 2 leads, +ve and ground. can I still use this? How can i connect the fan with the rest of the electronics?

Not sure on the 3 pin connector, but it surely can be hooked up. I have some 12 volt, 2 pin fans if you need them.

To demonstrate the cooling effoects of suck vs. blow, think of a hot day. Which side of the fan do you stand on to cool down? The air blowing over you cools much better than standing behind the fan! Same principle.

Thanks mike. Are you refering to the "cfm" when you said about blowing and sucking? I thought the cfm value shows how much air the fan can blow..

I think on the 3 pin connectors. They have a hot ground and sensor wire. Tell the computer what it is doing. I may be wrong on this.

The suck vs. blow was referring to having the fan blow the air over the controller and motor vs. trying to have the fan blow air away from them(suck air away). The air blowing over them is much more effective.
cfm is the volume of air being moved. I was referring to where it it being moved to. :)

What do you guys use to power these fans?

I run a 5 volt fan off the 3rd channel in the receiver. Sometime, I use a 12 volt fan powered by the main battery packs.

If blowing air on the heatsink cools better then pulling the hot air away for it by sucking why do all CPU heatsink fans pull away and not blow on? You think they would do it right?

I have always heard pulling heat away from the heatsink worked the best.
