Some would argue that the wanderer is more reliable, simply by virtue of the better bearings, that some say it has. Personally, I'd go with the one that I thought looked better. LOL.

Imo id go with a wanderer with RCM heatsink.. its pretty much indestructable since the rear and front will stay put.

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

Will I also need a UBEC and cutoff with this system? If a cutoff is needed please advise as to which one and include a link if you could. Thanks

No cutoff neccesary.. the Mamba IS the best cutoff on the market. :) It's fully pregrammable.. and easy too.

But you do need to get a ubec. It's simple to install... and you can get them for only $15.

Don't forget about putting a plastic spur gear on there too, if you haven't already.

Scroll about halfway down this page for a few cheap ubecs $10-15 ea
http://home.comcast.net/~truerc/esc/escNmotor.htm

I have two of the $12 ones there... no problems with them. I also have a Kookflight from RCM, and another $15 one from somewhere?

I have found this BEC to be very reliable. Its small, light and good quality for the $15. Im running it on almost every one of my trucks and never had a problem with any of them.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

I ordered two of those ubecs from truerc. I hope they work well enough. I don't know yet. It's been about two weeks and I still haven't gotten them.

I'm having horrible luck with getting my orders lately.

Sounds perfect for racing and hard bashing... you should have room to gear up a little for speed runs.

Bummer the Wanderer 9xl is out of stock would the 10xl be good or should I just go with the fiago 9xl?

By the way this is deffiently going into a x1-crt with the hb front and rear 43/10 diffs and a 51t center gear powered by 2 Orion 4800 lipos controlled by the Mamaba Maxx.

Speaking of the diffs do I have to get a full diff assembly or can the HB gears work with the ofna diffs? These are new and it would be a shame to toss them aside.

Thanks
