okay well what should i get? im ordering this weekend. feigao, mega, or now the SV27 motor? and like ive said before, im only going to be using 3s lipo for right now. so a motor that will eb crazy strong and decent speeds (35-40) on 3s yet can handle a 4s once i get a set of batteries. the problem i see with the SV27 motor is it is only 1800 Kv. that wont spin very fast on a 3s lipo. but about the mega. so if it has as much torque as the 7xl, and higher kv. it will be as quick and faster? and can handle 4s power?

you seem set on the mega. okay between the mega and the 7xl. both will be run on 3s for now. and looking at the site, the mega that you pointed out can only handle 3s lipo, not 4s. and im still not positive that i can get one

It handles 4S, if you look at that link it says 12 cells which equals to 14.4 and 4S is 14.8 volts. If you go with the 7XL make sure you get the best lipos you can find, because they will consume a lot of AMPs. The Mega will need less AMPs and will have more torque.

If you do want to stay with a motor that has a Kv of around 2800, the ACn22-30-1E will be the one for you. It has a Kv of 2850 and here is the specs: http://www.megamotorusa.com/Brushless/ACn22-30-1E.htm

well if the other one will give almost the same torque and mroe speed than thats what ill do. im calling up my LHS tomorrow and see if he can get me the motor and if he can i will order one this weekend. what kind of torque would you expect with the mega? the first one you sent that is 3500Kv. will it launch like the feigao? or even harder?

Stock up on drive train parts and I don't know how good the slipper system on the Revos are, but I'm sure you will toast it LOL. I went through a lot of slipper pegs and spur gear with my tough as steel Stampede which has the Avoex RC7 motor. Not as strong as the Mega, but stronger than most of the 2 pole motors I have.

yes my stempede eats through gears constantly even with the VXL. and i have enough parts to rebuild my tranny. but how much power is it gonna be? do you really think it will launch that hard? standing backflips?

I ran my Mega 20-30-3 (1270Kv) once with 4S lipos and it was enough to grind my pinion. I had a steel spur gear in my MBX5T. Before the pinion went, it was either doing wheelies or on it's lid. The motor is good, but you have to match it with a good ESC. I was running my MGM 16016-3s.

MGM's 80A controller or the Quark 65A controller.

how would you keep dirt out of the motor? its got the huge openings in it and i'd be worried bout dirt and rocks and debre flying up into it... do you have a video of any trucks with the motor. or a similar one

I didn't do anything to cover the motor so it was open. I ran the truck on asphalt and didn't make a video. I was by myself at the time and I just wanted to run the motor. You might be able to use a fine screen, cut hole for the screws to go through and zip tie it to the motor.

that could work. and both of those ESCs, they need an external BEC right? are they as strong and programable as the Mamba max? i know the mamba is rated for like 100A i think?

You can use a external BEC or a receiver pack just remember to remove the red wire from the controller. The MGM is somewhat confusing to program as some folks in the forum pointed out. The Quark is as programmable as the MM with out the PC capability. Keep in mind that in my opinion Castle over rates their controllers.
