Actually you really don't gain that much room switching to a CD. Now granted I'm using the TCS conversion front dogbone, so thats mostly why, otherwise you will need a custom dogbone. What you end up with is more room for a bigger motor such as the 1520 or 1717.

Why not loose the tranny and use a center diff in place of that to save a few mm in room for the batteries?

From the looks of those drawings even a few milimeters would be a good thing. Using a two speed tranny is just not needed with some of our brushless power today.

Flux has single speed and if you switch to CD you will have also have to change the motor as transmission has 2.2 ration and CD has 1. You can compensate something with bigger
spur and pinion.

Standard Flux transmission with 44/20 equals CD with aprox. 49/10, but with pinion that
small you are very limited with motor diameters.

There is already finished project, not only drawings. With 3 differend battery positions. Inside TVP's or in batterybox with two mounting options.

On first picture is kit wit 3mm tvp's, on second with 5mm.

Dejan, there are several finished conversions running around here. :) But Jerry if you check out Dejan's conversion, another way to free up some battery space, although really there is plenty already, is get rid of the plastic servo/radio housing and use a shorter plate.

One of the ways to counter act the switch to a CD is by using 4.3 ratio front/rear diffs such as what I've been experimenting with in my thread. Or you can run 50/52/54 spurs which others on just center diff conversions have done and reported good success with. Or create your own gearbox around a center diff that consists of two additional gears that help reduce the ratio to something closer to a Flux's gearbox. Later, if you don't have good metal working skills/tools like me is a bit of a stretch. :)

Hi.

If you use shorter plate on my conversion, you get allmost 180mm long battery compartment.

I know there are several finished :)

It is easier to show on drawing how much space is available and what are the options.
