Where is that track exactly? Is there any other tracks close? How did the racing go today? Who showed up?

Bye

It ended up being us 3 again and it was alot of fun. We ran with the nitro truggs today, and then us as a single class for the .5s. I had a few people coming over to ask about the little .5s. They really are alot of fun, but a less forgiving on some of the rough stuff, so helps you practice driving too.

Mike had a RCM ext .5 there with all sorts of other goodies including his extended arms. They look really good and the 1/10 body he had fit really well. He just ran a stock .5 tho and killed Chris and I again. :)
Mike's too good. He qual'd in the top of the A main for the trugs and was schooling them with an Erevo (on 4s and the medusa 60mm 2000kv) until the driveshaft broke (again, two weeks in a row.) He took my ST around for a little bit, I'd watch him make some of the big jumps w/ it and was shocked to see it do that. "See, just line it up and hit it like that." Yeah, ok, Mike I'll def do it like like next time, easy.. lol. He was good tho, gave out lots of little tips that def helped out in certain places of the track. Now me always making the truck do what I mean for it to do is another question.

Overall I was pretty happy w/ the day. I qualed 3rd in the B main (missed the 1st qual as a DNF too) out of 8 I think. Held 2nd for quite a while until I got so excited I was doing well (and nervous about not screwing up) that my hands were actually shaking. You can guess how well this effected my driving. Needless to say I missed out on the bump to the A main, but very happy to finish 3rd. Considering 4 races ago at the RCM Bash in Nov I considered landing on my wheels after a jump (a rarity) a major accomplishment, I was pleased with today. Now I just have to learn to chill out and keep driving consistently.

Got a little vid of the CRT.5 main I'll try to get together and you all can awe in Mike's skillz.

THIS SUCKS!

I also wanted to mention that as far as racing at Dirt Runners goes, our club has mandated that only ROAR approved LiPo packs can be used for safety reasons. Here is a link to the complete list of ROAR approved LiPos: http://roarracing.com/approvals/lipobattery.php

Even if your packs aren't ROAR legal, you can still come out and practice with us til you can get the ROAR approved packs.

Pray to god roar never really gets into 1/8th scale BL racing. They will ruin it in no time. Their rules are ridiculous and overly restrictive and just seems to drive up costs and drive out technology.

Basically they are locking everything to the big brandnames and 2S/4S tech. Might as well mandate sensored BL tech as well (as they basically did in the pan cars.) It should be whatever gets you around the track (within some basic chassis rules) and let competition decide the best tech. 4S, 8S, a123, sensored, sensorless, 1515, 1512 or fiegao. Let em run and see who wins.

Crazy thing is that this track is in the middle of a field and everyone uses generators apparently - Greater fire risk with generators than a blinking lipo IMO...

Yeah... I do know that it is a quite a busy track and lots of people go. If anything I hear complaints form the people at my LHS that go that they run too many classes and the mains are too short and spaced apart. It may be they just have to do those rules if there are tons of noobs out there not being careful w/ lipos and doing stupid things. How do you convince them you are not the idiot and should be able to run any batt you want?

You guys know how I feel about those MF that are over there putting out BS rules. Those CS will drive 1/8 electric to the floor. Like I've been saying and I won't say it again, HIGH MF VOLTAGE is the way to go with 1/8 scale buggies and truggies and those MF are too F stupid to realize that. How the F do they want to make it safe when most of us know that 3S and 4S will most of the times make the system just run hot. A lot of guys runs 5S, but 6S is much better. If I can get 10 minutes on my 6S 2200mAh, I should be able to safely get 15 minutes from a 3300-4000+mAh for a main. I saw a nice chart that was put up over at rumrunnerracing's forum and here is where it came from (I think) http://www.impaktrc.com/product_info...oducts_id=3076. I've been saying this for how long now. I know a lot of you won't agree because you've never tried it and when you get to know the Kv that will work efficiently with your voltage then you'll be glad you tried HV. I will not be using or recommending a 2200Kv to run on 6S. I'm not going to mention the company's name, but they should've went with a 1300 to max 1800Kv with their 6S controller. It's sad that ROAR has no clue what they're doing when it comes to 1/8 electrics. I'm sorry if I had to go that far, but I might be seeing 1/8 electric die before it really takes off. If I made anyone upset, I do apologize.

Regards.

PS did I mention I was deaf in my left ear on Sunday night and still have ringing when talking from either a couple of the nitros that really reved them whilst i was picking them up or the compressor.

The silence of brushless is bliss...
