thanks for the warm welcome to the forum just wnated to ask i am not yet in the brushless stage i just took out the stock titans and installed to 19 turn motors what should be my gearing can i used the stock 66 tooth spur with the stock pinions along with a 14 cell batts
just got your reply thanks but i am now currently installing the hv maxx and the suggested gearing of novak sight is 72 spur and 12 pinion gear give or take 2 gears down. is that ok? and in mounting it using the gorillamaxx motor mounts where is the best place to mount it on top or at one side and if on one side which side is better takinginto consideration weight distribution and CG.
I am thinking of not installing the fan of the esc first anyway the track i normally use does not have a lot of straight aways it is more technical with a couple of triple jumps
I would use the recommended gearing for the Novak system, as well as the fan. For mounting the motor, I would mount it low to one side-opposite the steering servo is where I put it(I don't use shift servo), high enough to clear the controller, but as low as possible.
You will want to use the fan, or you risk thermal shutdown, especially on a hot day.
thanks i just got your reply but i already did a test run on the track yesturday and there was no problem with the speed and power but my handling was a disaster she was all over the place the track was a bit loose but i was already using bowties and wasbash guys i need help on the suspension setup i have a race this coming weekend pls help me
If the handling was loose, I would start with heavier shock oil and a lower ride height(maybe-arms level works in most cases). A stiff servo saver and a strong steering servo could also be part of the trouble. Light diff oil (especially in the rear) will help make it easy to drive on the loose stuff as well(if you have this tuning option).
