Traxxas Rustler shocks+springs help!

Howdy. For once I'm bitterly disappointed with Traxxas.

I recently started popping and snapping the shocks on my E-Rustler, so I invested in some of the Traxxas made and recommended hard anno pro big bore alu shocks for it. I get them today, assemble them, and the stock springs don't fit

Traxxas don't recommend any other springs for it, and the Traxxas forums are full of fanboys saying "the stock ones fit but are little loose - nothing to worry about". BS! On mine they dont sit on the spring retainer properly, so much so that I can see the curve of the spring, and it rubs hard against the side of the shock. Not impressed at all.

Does anyone know of any springs that actually fit? Apparently traxxas want you to use ill fitting, shock body rubbing and teflon coat scratch-off-ing springs that make the pro teflon coated shock upgrade utterly pointless. I want something that fits damnit!
