Mamba Monster X broken - 03.28.2016, 06:08 AM

Looks like my Mamba Monster X is broken after only three runs :(
Suddenly, the car wouldn't accelerate anymore, only cogging/rattling noise.

Checked again when at home, after power-up there is no beeping anymore, when throttling it just coggs and doesn't move. Also tested with a different motor, the same. BEC, LEDs and Castle Link connectivity work fine though, looks like there is something broken on the power stage and the control board is still okay (?)

ESC is in a Traxxas X-Maxx with the Stock "Velineon 1600kv" motor. Gearing is 18/50, which translates to 45mph theoretical topspeed calculated with 3.7V/cell and the 1800kv measured from the MMX torque control motor test.

I have added three Low-ERS caps (1x 1000uF, 2x 470uF) next to the ESC.

Datalogs show maximum currents of around 90A, average currents around 25A, ripple around 1V, nothing too high in my opinion. Although my Mamba Monster Extremes don't have data logging, I'm pretty sure I have run much higher peak and average currents through them with the 1717s and the TP4070 and TP5840S I have.

Bought this ESC directly from Castle right after it was newly released, where do I send it for warranty? I'm located in Germany, can I send it to somewhere in Europe?

Another thing I have noticed with my MMX (and also seen on other people's datalogs in forums) that the temperature reported seems too high. In the log, it starts with 32C, although the outside temp was 16 degrees on that day and the inside temp in my home is 22C, so it should have been somewhere between 16C and 22C right after startup. Is that a "fixed offset" of around 10 or 15C?

Video of the last run (cogging is shown at the end):

Datalog zoomed in after the defect happened, when trying to give throttle:
