Racing Revo mods? - 04.29.2007, 03:32 PM

I run a 3.3 with the Vantage chassis, pipe, wing, tank skid, Tekno box, wing mount, and servo mount, pull start, Proline 23mm hubs, 40 series velocity wheels, and bow ties. I need it to be faster. What would you suggest I do next? Lets start with the cheepest stuff first and work our way up. I say this because the truck is not mine. I work for Hobbytown and its the shop racing truck. They are very picky about how much they put into it.So let me know what you think? Thanks guys!

Well, you could convert it to brushless, but this costs a bit.

What is the budget and is the reason for you posting here to make it brushless?

As far as making it tougher:
- RPM arms. They do flex more which is good and bad. Bad because some say steering response suffers because of the flex. Good because they are extremely strong, yet flex to help keep the shock from breaking bulkheads.

- RPM axle carriers. They are tougher and have larger bearings. Expensive though. I was popping pillow balls all the time and haven't had it happen since I got them.

- Brushless conversion. :) But you must have known that was coming considering the audience here.

Its going to need a new chassis. I just found out it was cracked. I'm going to Lower the gear ratio and change the hubs and tires. And put the stock chassis back on.

The owner is too cheap to convert to brushless. I have a hard time talking him into $30 parts.
