1/8 pan car - 05.04.2007, 10:56 AM

Hi, I've built a 1/8 pan car. It is currently powered with an AFI 05 4T and 8 cell nimh pack. It runs ok, but I was thinking of changing it to brushless. I have on hand 8 A123 Li-ion cells which I can easily reconfigure 4 of them to a 4s saddle pack.( I used MEC spt kits) I also have a Schulze 18.61K. I was thinking of getting a Feigao 10L. I have used this combo before in a Kyosho MP-6 conversion and it didn't thermal the speed control.(the MP-6 has since been traded off) I was thinking I could gear it similar to a 27T brushed. The car weighs 64oz(1813 grams) now. It shouldn't change much with the chageover. The li-ions will weigh less, but the 10L will weigh more. Money is a consideration at this point, that's one of the reasons I was looking at a Feigao 10L. Don

Hi DLS, welcome to the forum.!

i think the pancar is a 2wd, correct? it will be a hand full on a 10L, what is you goal? speed or driveability? otherwise you could try a motor with a tad less torque. the 10L is capable of pushing a 6.3 kg heavy savage to 71km/h on 15 gp3300's.. So it will be quite a hand full on a light on-roader..

An S motor would be more than enough. aim for the 30-35000 rpm on 4S and you should be fine.
