hey guys i have my new superbrain 989 and i wanted to ask this, i am a bit worried because when i put my 4k in discharge mode it started at like 15 amps 20amps! when i set it to 5amp. what!!??? and i saw a tiny bit of smoke and i imidietly stoped 3 seconds in....to be safe what should i do now? it seems to work still im affarid that if try to charge or discharge that it might go.

thats strange. normally it slowly gets to the Amps you set and it cannot go over 10Amps.

do you have everything setup correctly? (the SB989 can be broken as well)

i'd test it out as much as possible on some cheap packs if possible, and let it fry if that's what it wants to do so you can return for exchange while it is new.

i bought it offn tower hobbies, it seems to charge without any problems.. By any chance does tower hobbies take exchanges?

I returned a buggy kit once with no issues. It was unopened though. Im sure they will make good if the chrger is defective. They are a large opertion that must deal with this kind of thing all the time. Call them and ask.


I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
