What BL Motor for Pulling?

Neat idea! I bet the kids love it! I would guess most any "L" or similar sized motor with low gearing would make easy work of your child pulling duties. I would definately gear it very low and install a fan on the controller(braking will be pretty tough on the controller if you are trying to stop the wagon on a downhill grade). I would probably install a large spur gear (like 76 or whatever the largest available spur gear is) and the smallest pinion you can find. Honestly, if all you are doing is pulling the kids with your truck, I woul go with a very slow motor, such as the Lehner basic xl 1200 or 1600xl and run as many cells as you can fit in the truck. I guess there are many ways to accomplish this! I don't truly think it will be a big challenge, but as I said, slowing down this much weight will be a little tough on the controller.

Someone thought the HV-maxx would be good because of the smooth throttle response.

I am sure the HV would work quite well for the puller, as long as it was geared very low. As I said, it really shouldn't be too difficult with low gearing and low speed operation.

I would go for the HV system simply because its sensored, you will have a smoother pullaway which is really important in your situation. Ideally run it on 14 cells, with a fan on the controller to keep things cool. Just gear really low otherwise your asking for trouble :) Normally I wouldn't recommend the HV but in your position it is really important to get the extra smooth pullaway the system provides.

Sensored or sensorless shouldn't matter too much, the warrior controller are nice and smooth anyway. Plus he's going to be geared something ridiculously like 8/76, so he shouldn't experience much cogging.

Wouldn't matter as much no, but if I had my kids in the back I'd want to make it as smooth a ride as possible, that means sensored. Even if it has less performance.

If you want to pull. You may consider the 7.5 rears for the simple fact the are tougher and geared lower than factory. I'm not sure how tough the 48 pitch gears are. That is something you would ask someone else. Mike should know. They have a 13 tooth pinion with 96 tooth spur. It is just a suggestion.

48 pitch with out any doubts will be stripped in a short while. The load on both the electronics and gears is very high. 32 or bigger pitch is the way to go.

In the 32 pitch gears you can go to a 9 pinion and 76 spur. Robinsion make the gears in these sizes.
