Have you tried using the hardened steel u-joints from traxxas? They're quite strong I had them on my TLT crawler and never broke a single one.
It's the plastic rod ends that keep breaking. They are supposed to be the tough ones you know.
I guess I'll be going CVD's out to the wheels. My Revo centers are still holding up.
Crawling is pretty tough on parts even at low speeds. :027:
I know it's almost 3 months later, but in case anyone is still wondering......
Most guys do not run servo savers because the springs are too soft, when the front gets bound up but you still want to turn the wheels to drive out of it, the spring will take away all throw from the servo and leave you with the wheels pointed straight. Usually, guys will go with the heavy duty DuBro servo horns instead, which stay tough except for the absolutely hardest of hits.....which will kill the horn instead of the servo, in theory at least.
Oh, and the best bang/buck servo out there still has to be the TowerPro 995MG with 200oz/in of torque and .15 sec transit for around $10. They're getting harder to find though, because supposedly they were taken to task by Tower Hobbies, so they're now being sold under the HexTronik name.....I think its the 12kg one, but I might be wrong. Basically, these servos are the generic version of a high end high torque/high speed KO Propo, just not stamped with the more expensive name in Hong Kong or wherever they're made.
