Ron, it depends on what you want the motor to do too. The 1512 has enough power to push the truggy around and it is running far cooler than the Feigao did.

I don't think it's fair to compare a 1512 to an L can motor. I would be running an L can. They do have the power to push the truck around with authority. The drawback is that they get HOT. The setup with the Neu motor doesn't get hot at all. After running for 30 minutes, the motor temped at 160 and the esc temped at 130.

My purpose in going with the 1512 was to drop weight and extend runtime so that I could go with a smaller battery pack. This I accomplished. The 8ight T is much more nimble on the track.

I took the truck out today and dropped the gearing a tooth. I went geared 16/46 and the temps were good. Again, the raw power of the 9XL wasn't there, but it was fast enough for the track. Nothing awe inspiring, but solid performance. I still feel like I'd like a bit more though. I emailed Neu and told them that I do want to swap motors. I'll await a response and see what happens. If it's too late, I think that I could live with the 1.5Y as it is.

Since you already have the 1515/1Y, I'd go with that. It'll be more than enough motor.
