Question crt .5 mount-not tapped for threads?? - 06.24.2007, 07:53 PM

I got the rc-monster motor mount and only the 2 holes for the chassis screws were tapped for threads. The top 2 are just holes with no threads. Is this the way it is supposed to be or did they forget to tap them? Also when the diff is installed it doesn't sit perfectly square with the car, the spur is more forward on the motor side. Is that how it is supposed to sit?

The mount should sit square in the chassis and the top holes should be threaded? look at the holes in the bottom and see if there square in the mount you may have got a blem that got drilled wrong?

So it appears that both holes in the bottom of the mount were drilled about 1-2mm off to one side because the mount itself is square with the truck but the front mount of the stock diff is over a little bit from the alloy mount, basically the back is just shifted over from the front causing it to sit cock-eyed. So if the holes were drilled slightly off, how is Mike about swapping stuff out? I would rather not cut the chassis holes to slide it over.

I'd contact Mike for a new mount.

I sent him an e-mail. I really want to get this up and running.

Mike got back to me quickly and said he would replace the mount, no problem. He said he thinks I received a "blem" accidentally. I like his customer service.

It sounded like a blem when you said it didn't fit right and it was not threaded on top sounds like someone saw it was flawed and didn't finish it. :)

I'm glad Mike got you sorted out. Although I'm not surprised; CS is top priority with him...
