old battery question - 08.26.2007, 08:24 PM

hey guys i was looking through some of my dads old RC stuff and came upon a huge box full of nimh batteries. they are all BRAND new. never even opened out of the package.

they are AAA looking cells. 9.6 volts and 1200 mah. they would give out some decent voltages but arent too high in mah.. so i would have to use it in a light small truck (crt.5) and wire it in parallel.

my problem is that when i charge them they say the voltages are too low. (each cell is way too low) so i upp the amps and that brings the voltages back up. then i do a regular 1.2A charge.. the packs only end up with about 140mah in the end.

is tthere anything i can do? maybe just keep cyclying them?

thanks!

o and btw i use the 1210i if that helps with any.

I know my NiMh usually don't show there stuff till maybe about the 5th cycle. Try charging and discharging them 5 times then see what they're like. Let them cool in between too.
