since its your first truck, traxxas is pretty good. out of the box, they are great for beginers. however, for people who drive harder and have more experience, they arn't up to the task.
i own a revo 3.3, t-maxx 2.5r, hellfire and ofna crt (BL conversion still in the making). my revo has revealed a fair few problems :
i blew the first gear in the tranny
i snaped a two shock shafts
elongated all of the push rod ball ends
snapped the exhaust header
blew the reverse gear

this was all done during racing on my track, not bashing it off a cliff.

if you buy a 1/8th scale truck or buggy (like ofna CRT or the hellfire) you will get a higher quality, more durable truck for only a hundred or so dollars more than the revo.
it would cost you $500 or more to upgrade the revo to 1/8th scale quality.
