How would this car do in the 132' race???
http://s33.photobucket.com/albums/d8...t=S5000633.flv
Fastest acceleration Ive ever seen.

Seriously though. The fastest setup I have ever run in my 1/8 buggy was a Lehner 1930/10 on 5s (4350mah 25C) with a MM controller. The smaller motor seems to spool up really fast and give some killer acceleration. I had it geared to the moon and the top end was really good too. The thing was absolutely wicked, only problem was the motor got hot after only about 2 minutes of running. But if your just doing a drag race and then shutting down that shouldn't be a problem.

My advice would be to look for a little smaller motor that can spool up faster and spin faster without drawing quite as many amps. 1512 or maybe even the 1509(2400kv) motor mike has listed in the store and run it on 5s. That would probably be much faster acceleration.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

Yeah, that's what I suggested too. I was saying a 1512 would more than enough for drag racing, just get at least 40,000rpm from it to take advantage of it.

From what I hear, the 1930's are some seriously capable motors, like you said JHautz.... Serum, IIRC, had one in a light weight maxx truck and he said it was very fast, and agile.

Can I throw in too - Building a MM / 9XL MBX5T conversion - I've ordered 2 X 5000 25C nue batteries at $100 each.

I already have lots of lipos - Any opinions of swapping to 5s2p A123 - I'd have to get a charger and all that stuff - PS can't solder for toffee so NO chance of me building my own pack.

I have enough problems with motor leads and deans!
