Quark/Neu No brakes at high speed problem - 09.11.2007, 04:11 AM

Hi Guys Just finished my first electric conversion and I love it. My main goal was to destroy the nitros at the local track and as a demonstration unit at big events as we are distributors for quark in Australia.

While in the initial testing I have found that past a certian speed i will have no brakes or no braking power.
So if i manage to hit top speed it will coast untill it drops below a certain speed untill I am able to apply brakes. I have fiddled with the brake settings but nothing seems to change this? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Details

Losi 8ight Pro
Neu 1515 1Y 2200Kv
Quark 125 monster
5 cell 25C Hyperion 5000mah pack
14 tooth pinion currently (smallest I have)

Thanks

That's strange, I have a neu/quark setup in my e-maxx, but I've never noticed anything like that before. Usually if I'm going really fast I'm worried about it flipping if I use the brakes. I don't know the brake settings that well, because I kind of set it and forget it, but I can't think of why it would do that for you, sorry.

Where in Australia are you?

Thats a new one on me, I got a Neu 1515/2.5d and quark combo

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

I used to have my quark setup for low timing, low start power, low drag brake and had to set braking EPA to about 70% (50-60% on high traction surface)then it worked perfectly. No problems with braking at all.
i had max 110A@18.5V on my 5S pack, then my second quark died.

On my new mgm drag braking is just too strong with neu and i have to run without it (i actually like it)
