Lehner 1930 for Traxxas Jato? - 09.29.2007, 06:09 PM

Doese anyone know where I can get the Lehner 1930 motors from anymore.

Also doese anyone know if the Lehner 1930 motor will run of the Mamba maxx controller?

I want to ger the Jato up to a 54T Spur and a 33T pinion and I am thinking that the Mamba Maxx5700 that I have in it at the moment might get a bit hot if I try to run this high gearing.

I think the Lehner 1930/6 might handle it on 3s lipo 8000mah. Should rev up to 38,000 with this voltage.

Has anyone had anything to do with these Lehner 1930 motors? Will it run too hot with this gearing in the Jato?

Also trying to find some specs on this motor. Mainly the length and diameter.

Any information appreciated

The LMT motors are a little hard to find around here nowadays. Maybe Mike can do a special order or something, but the wait time may be high, and heaven help you if you have to send it in to get fixed.

Anyway, the LMTs work well on the MM as long as you keep the current draw under control.

Thanks for the info.

So they are basically the same diameter and 6mm longer than the mamba max 5700 motor.

Do they run warm/hot like the Mamba maxx 5700 on 3s?

Will the lenher/6 handle the extra tall geraing (54T/33T without too much trouble on 3s 8000mah?

This might be a silly question but I take it that the Lehner 1930/6 are brushless motors?

Yes, the Lehner 1930/6 is a brushless motor.

This motor is way more efficient then the Mamba 5700 and will runs hundreds of time better.

It is easier to gear up with it as well. You should have no problems at all.

Ok, Thanks.
They won't run hot only running 11.1V ?
I don't really want to go any larger in Volts as i am tyring to use some of the gear that i already have.

I also take it that a lehner 1930/6 has less torque than say a lehner 1930/8 but the 1930/6 has more rpm.

If this is correct, would the Lehner 1930/6 on 11.1V still have more torque than a mamba Max 5700 on 11.1V ?

YES, YES, and YES. Don't worry about your torque if you get your hands on a Lehner. They are great. I run a 1920 on 3s lipos. I had to gear down just to control it in J-Pede. Plan for 45 mph. Anything over that you loose control of and thats not fun.

Good luck finding a 1930. I spoke with Chris Fine at fine design last month. He did not have any 19XX serious Lehners in stock and was not expecting any till next year if at all. Great motor but hard to find.
