well, i moved the shims around and the motor seems to move more freely. i put one of the shims on the rear part of the shaft. is it normal operation with a bk speed controller to have electronic noise through the motor? sounds like beeps and various fq's depending on throtle position.

The 9920 does make "musical" noises. As far as I know, that's just the ESC changing the drive frequency as RPMs change.
