Help me pick a new truck - 10.06.2007, 10:23 AM

I need a new truck I want to be able to fit 2 lipo packs on each side of the chassis, room for a big neu motor, mechanical brakes, and a 1/8th drivetrain. I can't seem to find a suitable truck, I want to be able to put 2 3s packs in it or a high voltage setup in it with 2 6s packs. A BPP truggy is close to what I need but I cant find one avalable, I may get a Mr. Constructor MBX5T conversion, but I would have to add mechanical brakes and make a lot of custom bits. I dont think a G3R could handle the power, I dont think there are strong drive shafts avalable for it, what do you guys think. I am sure there is something out there I am missing.
Thanks

i know a g3r could handle a 6s setup! i had a g2r running a lehner 1950/8 on 6s with stock diffs! only problems i ever had were snapping the roll pin on the input shaft(easily fixed with allen key) and a stock bearing blowing out in the rear diff. the truck would hit 50mph consistantly with moderate gearing! i would recommend this setup to anyone.

Yea, good luck finding a BPP truck. I don't think I would EVER sell mine.

I am thinking about trying the Ofna Jammin CRT...supposedly you can use two packs on that chassis.

What else do you have? How do you like the CRT in comparison to your other RC vehicles?

I am torn...trying to decide between building another monster truck (probably a Jammin CRT) or a 1/8 scale brushless conversion on a street car (probably Ultra GTP).

Anybody know what mount fits the Ultra GTP?

I love the CRT I have had it since March 2006, been brushless since I got it. I had a emaxx the Crt is my only RC at the moment. The Ofna CR mount probably fits the Ultra GTP, I also use it in my CRT because it puts the motor much lower than the CRT mount.

A Monster GT should work if you replace the bulky 2-speed transmission with a center diff. Then it would have enough room on both side of the chassis for battery packs.
