RC Boyz.com sell a kit for converting the savage. It's a motor plate and cell holders and a spur adapter i think ready to bolt on.No fabrication necessary.

I also vote for 7XL/9920 although i am still waiting for mine but based on Dafni and Serums advice and that it will run nice and cool and efficient on 14-16 cells.

Avoid the shulze by all accounts. It will die in a cloud of smoke.I actually have one with a bigmaxx which i have yet to run but i might e-bay it and get another controller for the bigmaxx.Problem with the plettenbergs is they are 4-pole motors which are hard on the controller and most won't handle them.

I'm expecting the 7xl to be plenty powerful on 14 - 16 cells NiMh in an LST.

Li/po is lighter weight but can swell and burst into flames if damaged or charged/handled incorrectly. They need to be stored and charged in a metal box and must not be over discharged.
