Tower always has high pricing until they get closer to actually having the product in stock. It was the same way when the VXL's came out...tower was really high for about a week or so and then their prices dropped to the same or less than most others.

I have an Electric Brushless Revo that would run circles around this. What do I need this for, because it's waterproof? LOL

All I want to know is will these new trannys bolt up too a G3R? Sure by nice to have the Revo style slipper without having to be one of the lucky few with one of Mike's slipperentials.

I asked at the show if the new tranny would bolt into the old chassis and they said that it would not. So its not likely that it will fit the gmaxx chassis either. I'm sure that Gmaxx will update the rails to fit the new tranny eventually though.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

@Serum

What's your opinion of the overall makeup?

I like the transmission. I'm pretty excited about that. I haven't been able to find any info on the 2 speed "kit" that they mentioned yet.

The diffs look alot beefier. I hope they used a tough cup, and improved the spider gears. On the old version, One of the weakest points were the 2mm screws that held the ring gear to the cup. If I'm reading that right, these are 2.5mm screws

2.5mm? Thats just plain odd. Still, should be easy to upgrade it to 3mm if required. It would also be nice if GorillaMaxx did come out with a revised chassis- new rails & front upper plate I imagine to accomodate the tranny and servos, then stick the esc & rx down the rear end (oh-er mrs).

I don't think so, but I am sure the chassis can be modified to accomodate one.

OK then gorilla needs to get on this right away before I have to throw my G3R's n the closet and buy a couple of these new E-Maxx's. Really need a tranny worth wizzing on for both of my G3R's.

Theres nothing wrong with the stock Emaxx tranny, once you've stuck an RCM steel idler in there & replaced the weak roll pin holding 1st gear onto the input shaft. But, yes, I want a nice centrally mounted motor too. Damn Im fickle sometimes.....
