As most of you know i have a ERT.Im running a 62/13 gear with a 1515-1y & MM. The jammin truggy uses a buggy gear ratio in the diff's, thats why the spur is a 62t. My ? is if i went to a kyosho 46t spur & adjusted the pinion size, would it make any difference in performance or not really ?. Thank's

As long as you take into account the weight of the vehicle and the speed you want to go, it shouldn't matter. The only thing to watch out for is you might need a really low tooth pinion to get the gearing right. 62/13 is a 4.77:1 ratio. To get that at 46T, you'd need a 9-10T pinion - a rare bird.

If you run a 10T pinion or a 11T pinion, it should be in the range of a decent nitro motor using a 4S lipo.

I have a 10t pinion & can buy a 9t if needed. But would there be any benift to using a smaller spur veruses the larger one ?.

You can't go below a 9T, you will hit the outdrive with the motor. The torque will be fine. The topend is the only thing that would be the difference against a nitro motor.

Maybe i'll just stick with the stock spur, what do you think ?. If it's not going to really help the performance then there's no need to do it.

It could help performance. You would have to go with the CR motor mount and diff mount and the small spur to give it a lower cg however. If you were looking for speed as apposed to handling, then it won't help much really...

I did what squee is talking about I have the CR motor mount and use the kyosho plastic spur but I have the 10/43 diff gears installed. I highly recomend this setup.
