Ue Update. -
10.26.2007, 04:32 AM
Ok fellas after reading your concerns over the last few weeks, Just to share some info with you guys I wrote an email to Robin last week sharing some of your/our thoughts and concerns with him and asking what the future is for UE as far as the SuperMaxx was concerned. He basically told me that "all of the gossip was a huge BS campaign and that I should pay no attention to it. He said he has no plans on selling UE or letting the SuperMaxx line die". Now I do not know him personally, but why would he lie to us? What would be the gain for his business? UE is his life.
So in saying that I have faith that with the great quality of his product line for us and the reputaion that he has set for himself with the unbeatable quality of his MAXX line of products, that we are all worried about nothing. This is just one of the querks that we have to deal with when our supplier happens to be a private company and does not look at things from a mass production kind of view because money does not grow on trees, because production is not free. He has his hands in many pots and has to share his time accordingly in order to keep all of his customers interested in what he is selling. He is not in this just for the money. He loves what he does plain and simple.
I am sure that he would love to have the unlimited resoucres that the huge commercial conglomerates and goverment agencies have, but he is just one little company trying to find the best way to survive that he knows how. I have 4 UE superMaxx's and I love the quality of each and everyone of them. I agree that breaking any of them would be a shame, and getting replacement parts would be very difficult at the moment, but that would be our own fault for not preparing for the inevitable (everything manmade breaks). Personally if I break something I would be very suprprized, but what the heck are you doing to your trucks that would make that happen. UE manufactures probably the best quality SuperMaxx gear on the market and it is pretty much indestructable unless you are smashing into concrete walls, or jumping your truck off of a two story building. So what are you so worried about?
Bottom line is that you have your hands on one of the best R/C products that has ever been made. Unless you are trying to leave these trucks to your grandkids then Enjoy it and have fun doing what we all love to do. Drive your ass off and make some memories with your investment. Take photos and remember the good times. None of us will be here forever you know. You could be crushed by a semi on your way to the track with your SuperMaxx in the back seat.
I love reading all of the hubub in the various forums learning exactly what the pulse of our R/C brothers is, and I hope we will be talking about the SuperMaxx for a long time to come. Truth be told I just ordered several pieces from UE this past week including the gen IV servo saver and a few other items and they have already been shipped. Robin is working on the restocking issues and we just have to be patient. Of course that is just one R/C junkies opinion. I have been very lucky finding some of my gear on EBay at a very good price. I bought a box full of UE stuff last year for $750 when I just got started into building my first SuperMaxx, and When I priced out everything in the box it had a retail value of about $2200.
If I were you guys I would be getting all of your friends together that have UE products and start writing to Robin directly expressing how much we appreciate what he has been doing for us, and that we desire to keep the SuperMaxx product line up and running. He needs to hear from all of us so he knows how much of a demand there really is out there. Well I hope this helps some, and lets put the pressure in the right place to resolve the issues at hand. I hope I have not stepped on anyones elses toes with this. Have a great day guys.
