Fepo wiring question - 11.04.2007, 02:00 PM

Hello,

I want build me a 3S2P and one 2S2P pack out of Fepo cells. Now the question:

Do I have to connect every parallel cell to each other? I thought it's right to connect 3 cells in series on both parallel sides and then connect both sides just on the front and the rear of the pack!? Wouldn't connecting all the parallel cells to each other short all the cells out?

To describe what I mean:

What's the right thing to do?

I would prefer all cells to be parallel instead of the series of 3.

Otherwise they would be combined through the ballancing wires? or did you want to make 2 loose 3S packs from it?

not sure what serum is trying to say as if they were all parallel then you would have like a 1s6p pack.

anyway what i have done with my 2s2p pack is make 2 2s lipo packs and then using 4mm gold connectors and cable join the center and a deans T paralleler what this means is should i want to change it to 4s1p all i have to do is remove the center bridge cable and use a series deans connector instead.

I do however think I went overkill with the 12awg cable for the bridge as I am sure that the current through it is probably very low considering how well the cells stay in balance.

The point is: I bought 10 yuntong Fepo cells for testing and I wasn't quite sure how to wire them and the image on the RC calculator page confused me.
I have to make a 2S2P and a 3S2P pack because my ESC is wired for a 2-Pack configuration and I think keeping them in 2 pieces could come in handy if I get another smaller RC vehicle that runs with one pack.
