I bought my thunder chassis fall '04 and its took almost 3yrs to get it together. Now that I have some spares, I'll have more fun with it. The chassis I bought had been beat pretty hard, had a lot of stripped threads. Fortunately I'm well versed in helicoil installation. The stripped ones are now stronger than they originally were.

It going to be diff not scrounging for UE parts as seriously as I have been.

It can be done!

This is the stuff that I have been talking about. These are the comments that you guys need to post on the UE site so Robin can read them. It may seem hopeless at times, but if UE does not konw this problem exists, then why would they buck up with replacement parts. I know it can be kind of a pain, but for whatever reason that is what needs to be done in order to reach their compassion. Just stating things like you did here may wake them up. I know it frustrates me as well, but it is going to take more then just one or two people communicating with UE to make a difference. We just have to keep trying.

I got lucky and found several UE parts on EBay last year. I won one bid for a box full of stuff because one guy ran into financial problems and needed the money. Over $2500 worth of UE gear for $750 in one shot. The rest I had to order and just wait for delivery. It is up to you guys, but if I were you I would be posting and emailing Robin to let him know your thoughts in a dignified manner. Good luck gentlemen.

I exchanged several emails with Robin concerning this issue just to share with him that he has a lot of people out here that are feeling desperate for the UE SuperMaxx line of products and he has also received a several notes from others as well. I think that he finally realized that it was time to catch up on stocks for our benefit. Plus it is another money maker for UE in general (win win). From what we have all seen in the last two weeks I think UE is trying to get stocks back into the 100% full range. Congrats and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who jumped in with their comments to Robin and Sam. Just don't stop there and keep letting them know how much we appreciate what they supply us with.

I have made 3 orders this week, totaling about a grand, every time I made an order I thanked them for their fine work and let them know that myself and others would love to see parts back in stock. I basically told them when its in stock I will buy it, and they came through with the 8mm CVDS so I bought them. I am still hoping and praying they get VBS back, VBS is one of the most amazing RC products ever IMO.

I've placed two orders and have done the same - mine were for the small stuff that you have to have to run - drive cups, brg spacers for cvds, hinge pins, spurs, some spare RacerX arms. I also got a backup set of 8mm cvds which I consider essential for the Lightning I'm building and want to run and not just be a shelf queen.

I would like to be convinced they're stocking back up, but the 8mm cvds disappeared pretty quickly, so it looks like this was just inventory that was sitting and not reflected on the site. I just looked and they're listed as in stock again, so that is encouraging!

i have to agree with that one - i've had both versions before (towered and towerless) and they are complete works of art. the way they fit together, hold the 1/8 scale gears, and how everything just works together is amazing.

what they call 'VBS Pro' has integrated shock towers. they call the non-towered version the VBS-t (towerless). looks like they pulled towerless off the 'bulkless' page, and only towered is there.

one thing to keep in mind: when/if the VBS does come back in stock, that price doesn't include gears - so you'd have to spend another $200 to get 6 or 8 spider diffs... which brings the grand total up to about $800...just for working VBS.

you can find great used sets, with gears included, for around $500-$600.

I think I just got me a new VBS Pro, already have the 8 spyders, monoblock, most of the Racer X suspension, servo saver, 8mm CVDS. I still need to find a diemaker Dave wing mount, some more Racer X parts, Setback arms, and get me a V2 slipperential and gorrilamaxx chassis. I am excited. Im gonna run 6s flightpowers and a Neu in this beast.

Get Mike's wing mount. They're way tougher than the Dave ones.
