from what i have read on other forums, neu energy are great packs. i think they are on par with flightpower!

NeuEnergy packs are built using Enerland 25C cells. Any of the packs using these cells are great packs. Some of the other brands that are built using the same Enerland cells are: Flightpower, Thunderpower extreme, Polyquest, and I'm sure others. These are the ones I know about.

One note about the Flightpower packs. I went to the iHobby show and stopped at the Flightpower booth to ask some questions.

I basically asked "What makes the Flightpower packs better than the other brands that are built from the same cells and cost less?" I expected hime to give me some info about how they are built or some superior cell matching teqniques or something... but all I got was a bunch of Bull$#!t about the Flightpower name and they stand behind their packs and then he started showing me their Trackpower packs and how the plastic case protects the cells trying to change the subject. I asked him again and he then started talking about their service facility and such.

So basically what I read into that non-answer, answer was.... They are no different or better than the other brands using the same cells, at least not in any way the sales guy could commumicate. They just have a great brand name they expect us to pay for. I personally will stick to the Polyquest or NeuEnergy that I can be found for alot less $$ than the flightpower. Just find yourself a good quality built pack using the Enerland 25C or 30C cells and you will be all set IMO.

I run the polyquest 25c cells and they work great for me. atleast much better then the maxamps 5000's and 6000's that I have owned.

as jhautz said any of the packs using enerland cells are great packs. what ever ones I can get a good price on I will run.

I have a Neu 30C 4800 (IIRC) 5S pack and there is quite a difference between running that as compared to running a maxamps 5000mAh 5S pack.

The only thing that I don't like about the Neu pack that I have is that the balancing connector is some type of non standard (to me) connector. Although the site says it's a hyperion connector, it isn't. Among the polyquest, neu and flightpower packs, I get whatever I can get the best price on when I'm buying.

I've only heard/seen good things on th NeuPs. If I was going to get high-end packs I would go for these, and at a very good price for what they are.

Yeah i have the Neu 30C packs too and all i can say is there awsome... Inerland cells are definatly the best you can get and (as ive said before) maxamps packs are in my experiance pretty horrible for quality. I work at a hobby store and i see so many "puffed", shorted out, or simply caught fire packs. Go Go Neu Energy ^_^

I have to believe that a company like Neu is smart enough to figure out how to build a pack just as good as any other, including Flightpower. Unless FP has some magic solder or somthin lol

It's not rocket science to build a few cells into a pack.

And I tend to think the guts inside the cells are pretty much the same for all of Enerland's name brand customers... who not coincidentally all now have the new 25c product. If Flightpower has a Enerland make their cells special and better than all the others, then FP must know more than everyone else including Enerland... and perhaps they should run their own factory.

That's just my impression... seems that Enerland would be the experts and know how to make their own product, and I doubt they would be selling an inferior product to Neu, Thunderpower, Poly, etc.

But.. anything is possible in business.

How many maxamps packs does your shop sell? Must be a lot to have "so many" puffed packs and fires??? In all the online forums.... have heard of a few like AAngel that have puffed a pack. I don't recall any fires. Can't be that many fires among the customers of just one hobby store...

In my experience with a bunch on maxamps cells... I have puffed a couple packs but it was 100% my fault both times. Once I shorted out a pack by plugging in a wrong "adapter", and the other one was accidentally discharged to 0 volts. The 0 volt pack still works but one cell is puffed and one is starting to... so I took it apart to try running the two cells that still look ok. Well see how long it holds up.

We really dont sell alot of them but i do see alot of those packs come threw there... and im not trying to convince you that there ALL bad... im just saying from what ive experienced as a sales man, Max amps packs seem to be of lower quality than others like Neu, Flightpower, etc etc.

From my experience with MA, they work great for the money. However, they really should not be rated at 20C. IMO, they are solid 15C packs, but any more than that and they start heating up. The same thing happens with anything if pushed at or over its rating.

If you have the room and don't mind the extra weight, go with a higher capacity pack so that each cell doesn't need to have such a high C rating. You get the current and the runtime that way. For racers, this isn't viable since weight can be a deal-breaker, but bashers don't usually care.

Discharging to 0v and/or shorting cells is not good for any brand pack. (Shame on you GD )

im still sticking to my truerc packs. i have about 4 packs and they work wonders!
