it puts me at around 30-35 depending on my spur gear(at nominal voltage) but thats without tire balloonig.

I really think thats pretty accurate without the tire ballooning because of the voltage drop.

better than my old setup that pulled up 23mph on the calculator. just doesnt seem right but I will belive anything. but if my revo was going 23 my 7700k/v rustler must only go like 35. IDK and really IDC because they are both fun.

Im just tired of shifting with my mx3 radio because the 3rd channel is in a horrible spot(its on top of the radio)and I have heard that the revo tranny is stronger but the emaxx tranny never gave me trouble. Its my diffs that do that. maybe its was my low gearing(15/66)

I wouldn't neccessarily recommend this unless you are trying to reduce cogging, reduce the amps needed during startup, or attempting to reduce the wear on metal to metal pinion/spur gears.

I would say that the speed off the line is most effected by the clutch but once the vehicle reaches a "coast" speed, take off power is right there when needed. With the clutch springs removed, the startup speed was still faster than the nitro's.

It was a fun project but I like direct drive transmissions better.
What flywheel clutch setup were you using? I used the stock Revo setup and once I had geared correctly I had plenty of punch off the line with my 8ight. I was using a larger motor then you were so that could have also helped. And I'm guessing all the scratch/clang came from badly centerred mesh like you said, not the clutch.

I run a 9XL on 4S, geared 18/36, it's plenty fast for me. You may want to go to a 34 spur and possibly use the wide ratio 2nd gear for more speed, if you need it. Are you keeping it as a 2-speed?

Well the motor's gonna get hot, it's a fiego But seriously, everything should stay pretty cool, but the motor will heat up. I suggest Mikes motor heatsink clamp, it's pretty awesome and fits with the Tekno mount. And if you're really worried about temps, just buy some fans and put them on the motor and ESC.

I know - i already run a 8L in my EMaxx ... it gets hot all the time.
I already ordered a motor heatsink clamp :)
Well i read that the maximum length with the tekno mount is 74mm, the length using the heatsink is about 76mm

Trust me it fits, it's what I am currently running. You just can't run the motor in the low cg mount setup. By the way, are you running the extended rear a-arms?
