another brushless buggy in a mag! - 11.29.2007, 04:25 PM

Cool, I just picked up the latest edition of Rc Driver and there's another brushless buggy feature on page 60. They used a Ofna Hyper 7 with 4s lipo MM esc and 9xl feigao motor & also tested with a Neu 1512 1.5D/F motor. Great to see more brushless conversions in mags! When are the production one coming... :O)

Working on:
Twin CF GorillaMaxx (8S motors on 2x2slipo)
2WD AL. GorillaMaxx (7lbs with batteries)

I think team losi will make one soon. They seem to be the only ones coaght up in new technology.

I think the only thing holding them back is if they do build one to losi standards (high) then MOST PEOPLE will have instant sticker shock and not even consider it.

Losi's quality BEFORE their recent 1/8th scales was, well, sub par to say the least.

Personally, I laughed when they said "we had some cogging issues with the neu but programmed them out on the computer" OK [sarcasm]. I wonder why? lol

I don't see what your saying...Alot of people get cogging, mostly with the 1515, but their are a fair amount of people who don't have a problem with cogging or can get rid of it with the Castle Link.

IMO losi has the highes quality cars, but I run traxxas trucks becuase they are cheaper and the LHS always has the part I need. Its just more convenient.

Yeah the BL 8ight didn't really have that good of electronics in it to start off with. Its funny how they still get hated on because so many people are so nitro crazy, if only they knew.

BTW it is running 6s lipo. There is no way that 11.1v would get a buggy with a 1320kv motor up to 47 mph without using a HUGE pinion. Judging by the pics the pinion appears to be a 20 tooth or similar. It is amazing that mags like this can do a test and declare a winner, and not even know what they are looking at! Driving electric is much different than nitro. Nitro is more forgiving in the traction department due to the overall lack of power and acceleration compared to electric.

I thought the use of plywood in the brushless buggy was very odd. WTH?

I was saying I was laughing that they didn't already know this and were surprised by it.
