Offna Hyper 7 nylon spur gear?

The spur mounts directly to the one side of the diff case, but my ghetto way is a bit different. Would nylon be more durable than the HPI 52t plastic spur I trashed? My Lehner 2800xl seemed to do pretty good with 12/52 gearing on 12 cells in my 9.5, but I wish I could have a more durable gear, yet not lose the "give" of a non-metal spur.

Anyone know how to mod a clutch bell to fit a 1/8" Lehner shaft? I guess that'd be an idea.......:D
