You also have to factor in the new hardware needed for charging/balancing and mounting & protecting the Lipo's on the chassis as well as the learning curve for the new batt chemistry as not to destroy your new investments.
Lipo's are not for folks who do not want to worry about low voltage cutoffs, discharge cutoffs, current ratings and thermal runaway

My vote would be A123's for those types of users as the A123's are lighter than nimh's and are not as fragile/temperamental as Lipo's.
