Possible 3905 Emaxx setup, with pics! - 01.10.2008, 08:03 PM

Ok, I have been keeping tabs on the various dual velineon powered new emaxxs. I thought it would be interesting to do a dual motor brushless truck. So I got a chassis and tranny from sike, and gathered up some other parts too.

I plan on using a paiir of hacker c50 maxx motors. They are around 3000kv. I have a pair of MM sitting around, and on 4s lipo with 22/68 gearing it should be good for 45-48 mph. Now when the 2 speed comes out, 1st should do 40mph and second should top out north of 70mph!

Anyway, I may use the new emaxx diffs, or a set of aftershock/lst diffs (different gearing will be needed as the diff ratios differ). I have 2 3050 futaba digital servos for steering and a cc bec.

Heres some pics of the mocked up chassi and motors, batteries are a pair of 3600 4s lipos.

This is cool, I had a dual hv-maxx e-maxx once(28 cells). It was fun, heavy, but fun. I have always liked the look of a dual motor truck too...

Bye

The batteries will eventually be a pair of trakpower packs. I have a feeling it will make some power!

They will be finding pieces of the Puny Velineon's in it's poop.

I have been collecting hacker motors recently. The rarely sell for more than 100 bucks and are so much better than a feigao.

I have a feeling that it should run well, just need to buy another set of aftershock diffs.

If you had to compare the power output of one C50 to one Fiegao motor on a given Lipo voltage, What would that Fiegao motor be?

I've never ran a C50, but I've always been curious about them. Do they run cooler too?

Well, the c50 motors come in all different sizes and winds, just like the feigao 540 class motors. The c50 maxx is a hybrid of a l can and a s length rotor. It has a kv of around 3000 and should produce smilar power to a l can feigao with better effecientcy.

I have a 13l c50 in my ls10. I run it on 5s 3000mah lipo and a quark 65. It is geared for about 45 and it runs cool. I would say that a c50 l can is compareable in power to a feigao xl motor, and will run cooler.

I may try a c50 15l that I have in the 2wd old emaxx, and see how much better it is than the feigao 15l I currently run. The hacker is a much better made motor and I have had excellent succes with them. The c50 is a bit large in diameter, which can cause some fit issues.

Wow! That's a really nice car man! I just love trucks with dual motors, and when they are purple it's even greater! Maybe i'll get myself a C50 instead of the Novak system that i'm currently running... Anyway, you'll probably see my project here later this weekend, hope you'll enjoy it.

I like the Duals, but personally just prefer the one motor. less esc's and less motors to go wrong. IMO. Nice truck though.

Hmm, I have the lexan racebomb chassis sitting here. I also bought the hybrid bulks and full rpm parts for it. Just need a gmaxx single speed kit and figure out what esc and motor to use. It is a nice looking truck. Maybe a new emaxx tranny can be modded to fit the old chassis? I may have to mock that up.
