Its VERY simple. I've had my PSP completely apart before. To change the analog stick all you have to do is:

1. Pull the faceplate off via 5 screws. One on the bottom of the PSP (very visible), 2 on the right side of the back, and 2 under the battery. Theres 4 under the battery, but the 2 silver screws hold the screen cage in. Theres one black one and another black one under the bottom sticker. Remove those and pop it off.
2. Pull the two screws off the analog stick from the bottom of the faceplate, and viola! Just put back together...

Note: Be careful when putting it back together. If you over tighten one side of the faceplate, the cursor will track to one side...

Working on the PSP is rather easy. Just small parts you wanna be damn sure not to lose...
