MGM mounting in 3095 - 01.11.2008, 04:36 PM

Whats the best way to mount a MGM 160 in the new maxx? I mounted mine using 2x tape, but after one run the Esc was warm making the tape loose. I wish the bottom were of plastic to mount it using the tape. I'm tempted to zip tie it to the shock tower.

you can use the 4 m2 screws to mount it onto something flat.

If it were me, I'd slot the chassis and mount it with zipties. It would allow more slip if you hit something hard

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

You know they make zip ties with the little screw hole "ears" that may work using the stock mounting screw holes from the originl ESC. Might have to give those a go.

I used servo tape and zip ties. It has held well with very heavy bashing.

In the pic I hadn't zipped it yet

I found some 1" plastic mountaing squares at the local depot today. They have 2x tape on the bottom (good stuff) and these little slots on the top for slipping a zip-tie through it. It works very well without having to modify anything. Also in the pic I put together a switch mount since I had MGM include it when I ordered it.
