ESC Cooling Fans? - 01.17.2008, 08:37 PM

Hey, guys. I have a MM that I need to cool a little bit better. I have a 40mm fan that I can mount via standoffs. but I'd like something that I can mount directly to the heat sink itself. I've seen some that use 20mm fans and run screws in to the heat sink fins but I can't find any 20mm fans. So I guess the question is - where can I find a fan to fit on a MM ESC? Also, I'd like to run it directly off of 4S if possible.

Thanks!

-Jeff

Well, you'll have to run these off of the rx but that's not a problem.

As an alternative, you could use a 12v fans used for PC chipsets found at most computer stores. Then, use a simple LM7812 regulator off the battery pack. Might be easier to find 12v fans when/if they break or wear out.

TBH, if you're having heat trouble, you are most likely geared too high. Fans mask the problem IMO...

I use 25 mm 12v fan directly off of 4s, no problems.
