by "the Castle Link" I assume you're referring to the mini-usb cord and software? Though I thought I just read it doesn't have the usb port? Hm.. I'm not clear on this.

Yes, the Castle link is the programming software and the adapter needed for programming the Sidewinder. Since the Sidewinder has no usb port the Castle link adapter is used on the RX plug.

Ohh okay this makes 100% sense now. The CCBEC is the same way I suppose? I just ordered one and didn't realize that! Now I gotta get an adapter..

Thanks :D

Yes, it is programmable through the PC: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXGVR8&P=ML. This is the castle link used on almost all castle's products, except Mamba max (USB)
From my understanding reading a few reviews and PPl's trials this ESC does have the newer firmware, or better than the MM for running other Mfg's motors such as Novak (sensored mainly) which the Mamba max was horrible at. But, it doesnt run brushed motors right now until a firmware patch is realeased. Personally, mine will never see a brushed motor so updating right away isnt totally necessary.

Wow, I'm so tempted. This would be perfect in my DF03.

Who's gonna be the first to try it on 4s ? lol.

Just updated my MM, loving the "dead band" adjustment. It's been the only thing I wish I'd have had before now. Mabey torque and RPM limiting software, so I could throw the extra MM and 5700kv I've got into sons XXXT without buying tons of replacement parts for every time he crashes at those speeds :) I have learned to use smaller KV motors with good results on small tracks.

Reverse rolling to forward power is better too. It never cogged on my setup but you could hear just a little chatter from the slop in the drivetrain which is gone now, just at startup.

If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...

I will try mine with a neu 1527 and 4s lipo.

Just kidding!

I am looking for a decent motor around 2500kv to use 4s with this esc in a crt.5 or LS10. I have a lehner basic xl 2400, but maybe that motor will be too much?

I'm going to try it with my truck. It has a Neu 1521/1Y and I'm going to use 4S with it.

I did try it in my MBX5T with a Mega ACn22/30/2 and it was much smoother before this update, but for some reason it is not smooth at all in my TC3 with the Trinity N80.
