LSP motor mount with brake -need HELP-

I have a problem with RC-monster's motor mount for Hot Bodies Lightning Stadium.

Bought it with the idea of using the mechanical brakes, but I cannot.

The problem is that I can´t fit the mechanical brakes: the holes are too low (a few milimeters) and touchs the brake pads mount.

.... or maybe I am doing something wrong.

Is anyone using the mechanical brakes with this motor mount?

Are you using a center-diff, or is it a solid center shaft with a spur on it? If it's a solid shaft, just put the brake on the other end...

Is a center diff with Kyosho plastic 46T spur.

I could use the front brakes but I am worried about the performance braking only the front shaft.

Yeah, you'd have good front brake, but poor rear brakes. Oh well, it was worth a shot. I'm sure someone will have the answer...

Dont´t know, I am trying with the stock Lightning Stadium brakes.

Anyways, if you use a mechanical brake, you'll have to use a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiggg pinion to avoid the motor can to hit the brake pads.
For me, it's not a good idea to use the mechanical brake with this kind of mount.
The best way to use mechanical brake is to use the RCM revo motor mount on truggy or buggy setup. Work very well for me!!

Or you could move to a solid shaft setup (no CD) and then move the brake to the front. Probably the easiest solution IMO...

I'm betting its just the holes are off placement on the motor mount. They look lower than the stock hole locations. It happens. I'd contact Mike and include the pictures you just posted in your email. He will tell you whats up for sure. It sounds like the rest of us are just guessing here.

The smallest pinion I am able to run with the mechanical brakes on a Xray XB8 is a 16T before the brake diskhits the motor can. You just need to select a low enough kv motor that the 16T or larger is the "right" size pinion.

- I want to stay with central diff because I think is much better for racing, and that is I want the LSP for.

- Didn't know the RCM Revo mount will work so good, so I ordered the LSP mount. :-(

-16T pinion is not so big. Now I use 15T with a Lehner 1950 7T and 5S dewalts and was thinking to lower thr ratio.

So I will email Mike for an explanation.

I had a fast feedback form Mike, there was a little issue in the first design of this motor mount that will be fixed in a re-design.

First design, when did you get it? That is VERY different from the LSP mount that I got last spring and hacked to fit my lightning buggy.
