neu 1512 2.5 in a Revo - 01.26.2008, 07:04 PM

Whats your opinions? Would a different neu motor perform better? Im going to be running a truerc 5s 8000mah lipo.

That would seem like a fairly sound setup- probably a faster setup than others, but it depends what you want to do with the truck. Is this going to be a lightweight truck or heavier setup?

It will prob be right around 10.5 lbs. I'm not a real basher, I'm just looking for a bad a$&, fast truck.

Should be fine in that case. I know Wallot runs a 1512 in his heavy emaxx, and it works perfectly for general bashing with a good turn of speed.

I as well have a 1512/3D on 7s2p A123 cells and it is very fast. I would say it is the equivalent to running an 7XL motor on 5s2p (if that helps you), which is awesome fast for any purpose.

I love my 1512 Neu, it feels alot more responsive than my 7XL setup, although, equally as powerful... it's also quite a bit more efficient, and seem to run quieter when meshing gears? (must be because it's non-slotless design)

I went for 1512/2.5D because i was planning to use 5S and 2000kv seemed about right with gearing options i had on my maxx. 1515/1Y is more for 4S with its 2200kv and I did not want to use 6S and 1700kv version that time as quark 125 is known to dislike 6S.
Now I moved to MGM so I am going to try align 600XL 1650kv on 5S and 6S just to see the difference between Neu and Align.

As suicideneil mentioned I am very happy with my quite heavy maxx and Neu. Never had heating problems, with MGM it is very smooth and I can flip the truck whenever I want. (gearing for about 37mph) Motor stays very cool.
Maximum Amps are ~110A at heavy acceleration from standstill using 5S TrueRC 8Ah LiPos

Align 600xl - 01.28.2008, 09:30 PM

I've got one of these too, never tried it. I'm interested to hear about the comparison to the neu. I'm putting together a Muggy for lower speed bashing. Have you run it yet?

There fairly cheap, I'd be interested as well. You could buy 2 for the price of a Neu.
