MM programing problems - 01.06.2008, 08:19 PM

Im having a problem with programing and heat with my NEW MM.
First things first my setup

REVO truck
mamba max esc
mamba 7700Kv motor
ubec
two 3700Mah 2S 7.4 volt lipo packs wired in parallel with deans ultra plugs
Emax trans. (stock gearing)

When I first had everything wired and ready for first calibration process I double checked all soldering and wire routing to make sure everything was good to go.
OK power up....

It powered up, made a little musical note and then started flashing ALL THREE LEDS.They didnt stop and there was no other movements.
After searching castle faq. and rc monster forums I tried again but this time I dissconected the ubec.

Rechecked all conections...OK power up.....

I was able to go threw the whole calibration process, hook up to my castle link, and drive the truck.
UNTILL I noticed how hot everything was getting so I shut it down and now im a little hesatent on starting it again and risking melt down.

What am I doing wrong???
Any ideas???

You will need to gear way down, like a 10t pinion and 72t spur. The 7700 kv motor spins way to fast for stock emaxx gearing.

your never going to make any mamba max motor run well in a revo. Way to small of a motor. A motor that size is intended for a RC10 or 1/10 touring car. Especially that high of a KV. the 4200 may have a chance for a couple minutes before fying, but the 7700 hasnt got a shot in hell. Get yourself a Feiago 9XL motor and you will be OK. I would recomend a 8xl for a little more speed, but I think the 3700 batteries may be a little on the small side to handle the load. Your better off on the safe side and going with a 9xl to draw less current.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

I had that set up in a RC10 T3. It thermalled on me with stock gearing it that stadium sized truck. They are definately not made for a REVO.
