Hey Sike, that sucks about the servos, do what jerry says and send them an email with the pics. They will most likely send you some replacements. Looking at my setup, I am not very happy with the 2 servo setup. Steering seems a tad unpredictable, so I may convert to a single high torque servo. I need to setup the suspension properly and lower the voltage back to 6v on the cc bec. I run a pair of futaba 3050 digital servos and they have tons of power and speed as the pair. No problem holding a line under full power, or turning the wheels at standstill.
I use the cheezemaster-deluxe MG995 servos. Haven't beat them up that much, but others report having good luck with them. Dang powerful (you'll only need one) and at <$20 you can afford to blow through a few.
Traxxas is sending me new gears and a new servo saver.
I'm pretty pleased with that.
I got impatient though and order a pair of the MG995 Metal Gear servos for it. I think they will hold up better to the abuse I plan on putting this through. LOL

Those servos seem to be a good deal. Wonder how well they work?
I've run them before and had a pretty bad experience. The ones I got got were also given the part number MG995 with similar specs, though mine were also toted as being digital coreless. Needless to say they werent digital or coreless, and I'd read on other forums people had measured the torque and it was nowhere near what was claimed.
That wouldn't really bother me because the torque was more than ample for my nitro evader steering, but the ones I got were increadibly glitchy and couldnt hold their position even at rest. Maybe I got a dodgy couple but it made me steer clear of them anyway...
All that said, I've read more good reports than bad, and I hope your experience is one of the good ones! For $25 though I guess there's not much harm in trying! :P
Hey Sikes great go on teh gears for the damaged servo gears. We expected at least that much for the problems you had. Of course now you know they will not hold up in your rig with that motor. As far as the MG995's I have not tried them either, but like stated earlier for $22 what have you got to lose. We do hope that you have better luck with the diff gears setup the other way. It would be nice if you could get this thing set up in a configuration that will allow you constant use without failures. Good luck with the changes and keep up the good work.
Yup, I even tried the upgrade from Traxxas the 2070's and they are no match for a TXT-1. Swapped to these and they will move the truck if its up against something...hehe
