Lipo powered transmitter!!! - 02.19.2005, 01:15 AM

So, I had some old lipos sitting around that were 11.1 volts but only like 1200 mah and 2000 mah... too small to use in the 1/10 vehicles and since I got rid of all 1/18th, I had no use for them - until today.

Today, I got so sick and tired of recharging those stupid AAs for my transmitter tha I just chucked them all. Then, I got my transmitter - the XR3i and ripped out some plastic inside the battery compartment and then soldered a deans connector and now I can use all my little 11.1 volt lipos for my transmitter!
Now, I only have ONE charger for both car and transmitter. Life is simple... and the transmitter works great and I have tons of little lipos for my transmitter now!

Oh, and it's ultralight now - less fatigue. Not to mention, if it sits around for weeks, it doesn't lose its charge.

Cool idea. You can also read the pack voltage on the display and avoid overcharging. Not to mention with the slightly higher voltage, you have a stronger signal. Sounds like a win/win to me.

he is using them in his transmitter not for his reciever. i did the same thing last week for my hitec crx. just picked up a 2100mah 3cell pack and dropped it in. starting at 12.6 volts charged should last awhile. i was using the rechargables for the transmitter too but they get irritating since they only start at just over 10volts charged.
