should I build an e revo or an e maxx???? - 02.02.2008, 01:14 PM

Here is my dilema.
A group of friends I race mini z f1's with want me to get involved in their nitro revo racing. Most of the members have evo 3.3 and some have 2.5's. I would like to get involved, and have read alot of the threads in this forum to find out more about brushless power. My question is. I want to run with thier nitro. Do I build an e revo, or do I build a new e-maxx? I noticed that the nitros run around 40 so I definately want to keep up. But what is the best chassis revo or new emaxx that I can build for that speed and runtime? Thanks in advance for helping out a newbe.

I have a new maxx but you want a revo hands down for racing.........the suspension is far more superior to the maxx..........my next project is a BL revo with a new 3905 transmission with a big maxximum on 5 or 6s

Revo is really great, with the right setup, it can be,
A crawler
A monster truck
A Truggy
A street truck

You just need free time, some tools and money :P

so the consensus (2) say that I need to buld a revo. What is the best setup for it mm speed controller and a feiago 8xl? That seems to be the setup a lot of the folks run.

yes, that seems to be the consensus for motor/esc choice. and throw another revo vote onto the pile.

this is an easy question, you have 2 choices, emaxx nimh, or e revo lipo. e revo suspension sux hard core if you try to put 12-14 nimh in it is too heavy.

Another vote to the revo pile. I'm waiting to build one myself, I'm going to start with an ofna center diff/MMM/6S, then hopefully step up to a direct drive/axi-out runner/MMM/6S. The direct drive puts all the weight soooo low I have to think it would be the ultimate racer.

Of course I've got to get the cash up ,then get the MMM (mabey March 08').

If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...
