Thanks Cartwheels, I took apart an old LiPo to practice on today and found that its not a common positive or negative at all, its just taps from the positive or negative terminals, so I rewired the plug like you suggested and it seems OK, the balancer came on, but only 1 cell flashed at me, hopefully that's just because only 1 cell was out

A lot. They are very good cells; consider them to be as good as flightpower. they are top-notch cells for a decent price.

check this thread. Page one gives some dimensions, and check the name of this thread; you are actually asking the same as the topicstarter does.

I like my neu energy packs very much. I'd buy these over flightpower, since they use the same cells and cost much less.

btw, for balancing on the lba10, I use a "jst eh" adapter. I didn't want to bother with re-wiring all of my lipos, so I just got one of those.

I like mine, they give better performance and runtime but don't hold balance as well as my Flightpowers and I liked those, its an apples and oranges comparison tho, comparing 5ah 30c neu to year old tec 4350mah 20c flightpower, I cant say how well they compare to the current FP 4500 30c.

Are they the same cells? Flightpower, Pollyquest, Hyperion, et all only have 30c cells up to 4500mah and the Neu packs go to 5ah, the rated capacitys are different right down the line.

I've run, and balance charged my pack a fair few times now and shaving the lugs off the balance plug and swapping the order of the wires to it worked just fine for a LBA10 no pack disassembly or soldering required.

I believe they are the same. I was told by the sales person at diversity model that the neu energy lipos use enerland cells as well.

As far as the balance tabs go, I wasn't referring to taking the actual pack apart. My point was, I'd rather spend $4 on the proper balance adapter, than to switch the wires on all my lipos. That's all.

Its just a personal preference I guess. I have a lot of lipos from different companies, so it helps to have all the different adapters on hand. That way, balance tabs are never a concern for me when I buy new batteries.
