Are you running 4s lipo? Did you remove the red wire on the receiver plug on the MM?

yes, i removed the red wire from the MM and no, still waiting for my 4s so im running 12cell.
also, if looking at reciever, the CC maual says to install as fowwlowed
Servo white - Rd - Black
MM ESC Orange - - Brown
UBEC Brown - Red - Orange
wouldnt it be:
Servo white - Rd - Black
MM ESC Orange - - Brown
UBEC Orange - Red - Brown

Black/brown should be (-) and should all be in a line, as well as white/orange in line and reds in line, except for esc red should be out.

Your second list is correct.
All of the orange/white wires are signal, brown/black wires are ground, and red wires go in the center for 12v power.
If you servo is working correctly then you have it plugged in correctly, as the signal wires are closest to the center of the receiver case, and the black/brown wires are closest to the outside of the case.
Hope that makes sense.
Not sure what happened to the ubec, what brand is it?

It's used when programming via the PC. It's not needed I wouldn't think when being used normally.

4S you can go across both - this setup is for 6s+
If you go across one pack then yes you must follow this else you will rasie the ground to 7.4v = BAD
